Weavers and Craftsmen

Our master weavers who have preserved the centuries-old knowledge of traditional textile techniques are indeed the factory’s heartbeat.

When it comes to making rugs, tapestries and Coats of Arms, the Royal Factory’s master craftsmen make artistic decisions that highly determine and guarantee the pieces of art’s impeccable quality.

Handicraft apprenticeship can last more than 20 years, through which the weaver acquires extensive knowledge about not only the textile technique itself, but also sketching, dyes and textile history.

Weavers are responsible for both the selection of colours and the interpretation of the painter’s strokes. Therefore, their craft is an art that requires a creative combination of technique, memory, experience, patience and care.
